Job summary

Thimble Alterations is building a network of independent alteration professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear. You will alter gowns, bridesmaid and mother‑of‑the‑bride dresses, handling hems, bustles, bodices, zippers, and more, with attention to timelines and quality.

You will work from home as an independent contractor, receiving local client requests via the platform and choosing jobs that fit your schedule. Build repeat clients and strong reviews to grow your profile.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
• Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
• Machine + hand sewing proficiency
• Professional communication and customer service

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother‑of‑the‑bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
