Job summary

The Harbor Bank of Maryland is hiring an Assistant Branch Manager in Randallstown, MD to lead branch operations, drive sales, and deliver exceptional customer service. This role supports the Branch Manager in directing operational functions while focusing on growth, security, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3–5 years in retail banking, strong knowledge of banking products, and a proven ability to develop staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail banking, with progressive responsibility in branch operations, sales, and customer service.
• Strong knowledge of retail banking products and services, including deposit accounts, consumer lending, and IRA accounts.
• Proven ability to lead and develop staff, implement operational procedures, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (BSA, AML, and other federal/state banking laws).

Responsibilities

• Aggressively implement the Bank’s mission to provide a superior level of customer service within the branch.
• Provides managerial leadership and support to ensure the office is structured to deliver the Bank’s products and services efficiently.
• Create and maintain an active selling environment.
• Oversees branch compliance with policies, procedures, audit requirements, and operational issue resolution; maintains branch readiness and security.
• Probes, listens, assesses, recommends, and sells bank products and services; handles customer relations with courtesy and negotiation.
• Manages accounts (loans, deposits, IRA, CDs) and cross-sell services; supports account retention with Branch Manager guidance.
• Counsels customers on financial matters and strategies to achieve best results based on resources.
• Ensure timely completion of loan/deposit goals and strict regulatory compliance.
