Job summary

Specialty Building Products seeks an Assistant Branch Manager for its Mansfield, MA location to lead daily operations across warehouse, sales, customer service, and finance while ensuring safety and profitability.

You will partner with the Branch Manager, develop employees, drive process improvements, and support revenue growth through cross-functional collaboration with operations, logistics, and sales teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in operations, distribution, sales, logistics, or branch management.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing supervisors, managers, or cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated understanding of business operations, customer service, financial performance, and people leadership.
• Experience managing or influencing budgets, labor plans, operating expenses, or other financial performance measures.
• Ability to review financial and operational data, identify trends and concerns, and develop action plans.
• Strong business judgment balancing customer service, operational needs, and finances.
• Ability to work across sales, operations, logistics, administrative, and support functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and partner with the Branch Manager in day-to-day leadership and overall branch management.
• Coach and develop inside sales team members.
• Establish clear expectations for safety, service, productivity, sales, accuracy, and cost control.
• Support staffing, scheduling, cross-training, succession planning, and employee development.
• Promote ownership, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Assist with performance management and resolution of day-to-day employee concerns.
