Job summary

State Employees Credit Union of New Mexico seeks an Assistant Branch Manager I to support daily operations, supervise branch staff, and stand in for the Branch Manager when absent. The role emphasizes loan processing, interviewing applicants, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
• At least three years of branch experience with at least one year supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to interview loan applicants and make decisions on loan applications.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise staff.
• Develop, apply, and evaluate policies and procedures for the department.
• Develop, analyze, and complete monthly department reports.
• Ensure compliance with share draft rules and regulations.
• Coach and assist members with financial goals and product recommendations.
• Maintain knowledge of credit union products and services.
• Cross-sell services.
• Ensure staff are trained and cross-trained.
• Evaluate job performance of subordinates.
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations applicable to cashier/teller area.
• Serve as backup to Operations Supervisor for daily cash.
• Oversee branch lending schedules and service staff.
• Interview loan applicants and assist with loan applications.
• Obtain and evaluate credit bureau reports.
