Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Branch Manager to oversee daily operations in a library branch, lead staff, and deliver youth services. The role requires coordinating schedules, maintaining facilities, and ensuring patron satisfaction through policy interpretation and program delivery.

The successful candidate will train staff, manage payroll, and act as a liaison with IT and maintenance, while upholding library rules and community service commitments.

Qualifications

• MLIS with no minimum years of experience, college degree required with a minimum of three years of experience in a library setting, or five years of full-time library experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Manages, supervises, and participates in all daily service and support operations within a branch.
• Trains new staff members and re-trains existing staff in policies and procedures and updates training as policies change.
• Arranges staff schedules to provide optimum coverage and service to the branch.
• Conducts Youth Services programs.
• Encourages, motivates, coaches, disciplines, and evaluates staff to ensure optimal service for patrons.
• Notifies IT of any issues with computer hardware or software and internet connectivity.
• Plans and executes programs for all ages.
• Performs other duties and assignments as designated by management.
