Job summary

The Livingston Parish Library's South Branch is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee staff, buildings, and patron services. This working manager role requires stepping into service points to cover absences and support operations.

As a Leadership Team member, you will represent the system to the public and partners, coordinate events for adults, teens, and youth, and help plan large community programs like Comic Con and a Summer Reading Program.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in library science (MLIS) required.
• Two+ years of professional library experience required.
• Experience planning and running community events preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch operations and staff performance.
• Schedule staff to ensure optimal service coverage.
• Train staff on policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Balance payroll, leave records, and branch statistics.
• Manage branch collections and coordinate events with department heads.
• Coordinate with Community Engagement for systemwide events.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies at the branch.
