Job summary

BankNewport in Bristol, RI seeks an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in running a busy retail bank. You will oversee bankers, ATM operations, account openings and customer service while ensuring adherence to policies and security.

The role emphasizes coaching staff to meet sales goals, delivering high customer experience, and managing branch operations, staffing, performance appraisals and daily procedures. A BA/BS and 3+ years in customer service and sales are preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent retail operations.
• At least three (3) years of customer service and sales experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have excellent communication, problem solving, analytical, organizational, customer service and sales skills.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Individual must be proficient with technology and Microsoft Office, specifically word and excel.

Responsibilities

• Fully participates in the Bank's “All In” incentive program. Consistently meets branch team goals.
• Coach bankers on service standards, identify customer needs and provide solutions; lead team to high customer experience and goal attainment.
• Conduct daily outbound calls to look for opportunities to enhance customer relationships.
• Open and close the branch, following security procedures and ensure effective branch operations.
• Mentor and train new bankers; complete monthly certifications to determine proficiency and develop action plans.
• Disseminate operational information; keep staff informed of policy changes.
• Prepare banker performance appraisals and drive performance improvements as required.
• Schedule bankers to insure adequate branch coverage.
• Maintain supplies; balance and troubleshoot ATM/debit card concerns.
• Maintain teller and vault cash levels; order coin and currency.
• Report facility/building concerns to maintenance.
• Make sound decisions on complex transactions; meet with staff on security and safety issues.
