Job summary

BankNewport in Bristol, Rhode Island, is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager and oversee staff, ATM balancing, account opening and customer service duties.

The position emphasizes coaching bankers to meet sales goals, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Supervisory experience is preferred and the role requires commitment to exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent retail operations.
• At least three (3) years of customer service and sales experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have excellent communication, problem solving, analytical, organizational, customer service and sales skills.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient with technology and Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coaches bankers to meet sales goals.
• Opens and closes the branch following security procedures.
• Balances and troubleshoots ATM/debit card concerns.
• Prepares banker performance appraisals and improvement plans.
• Schedules bankers to ensure branch coverage.
• Mentors and trains newly hired bankers and conducts monthly certifications.
