Job summary

Kalsee Credit Union in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Branch Leader to coach and develop staff to deliver confident, accurate member service in transactions, lending chats, and new accounts. You will foster a culture of learning and engagement to support growth and retention.

Lead branch operations to run efficiently and profitably, partner with HR on onboarding and coaching, ensure compliance with BSA/OFAC, and keep a safe, welcoming environment that motivates the team to meet performance goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Minimum two years lending experience preferred
• Previous management experience preferred
• Ability to relate to people effectively
• Well organized with ability to manage planned workload with on-going interruptions and redirection
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, and develop team members through regular feedback, goal setting, and hands on learning that builds confidence and capability.
• Cultivate a positive, supportive team culture focused on delivering exceptional, personalized member service.
• Lead the branch in achieving growth, member engagement, and profitability targets by motivating employees and identifying opportunities to strengthen member relationships.
• Serve as a lending resource by assisting with loan interviews, decisions, and coaching employees to expand their lending skills.
• Keep the branch team informed, trained, and prepared by communicating updates to procedures, systems, and product knowledge.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming branch environment by overseeing daily operations, cash controls, and facility needs.
• Partner closely with HR to support employee success, onboarding, coaching conversations, and compliance expectations.
• Resolve complex member or staff concerns with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment.
• Ensure that member transactions are being reviewed for compliance with Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering / Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations and participate in annual training as required by the BSA/OFAC Compliance Officer.
