Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools is seeking a Boys Football Assistant Coach for freshmen and sophomores. The role supports the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating the program to create a safe, inclusive, and competitive environment for student-athletes.

The ideal candidate will have IHSA or ASEP/NFHS coaching credentials, CPR/AED and concussion training, and experience coaching and teaching. The stipend is $6,775.98, with duties outside regular instructional time and optional

Qualifications

Valid Illinois State Teaching Certificate (Type 03, 09, or 10) OR ASEP/NFHS Certification.
CPR/AED certification per IHSA and state laws.
IHSA concussion training and safety protocols.
Background check and fingerprinting per Illinois School Code.
Completion of Title IX training.
Coaching experience in the sport.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Head Coach to design drills, practice plans, and conditioning sessions.
Provide individualized feedback on technique, effort, and sportsmanship.
Assist with game-day logistics and equipment management.
Monitor IHSA rules, district policies, and safety protocols.
Support athlete eligibility tracking and required documentation.
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and administration.
Coordinate travel logistics and game scheduling with Athletic Director and Head Coach.
Assist with budget tracking and inventory records.
Prepare materials for meetings and disseminate program updates.
Coordinate compliance documentation under Head Coach guidance.
