Job summary

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced culinary manager to lead the kitchen team, assign duties, train staff, and ensure top-quality menu execution in a high-volume, upscale setting. You will schedule, supervise, and control food cost, maintain health and safety standards, and support special events while upholding the hotel’s guest-first culture and Be Yourself values.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of managerial experience in high-volume production of hot and cold food, and multiple outlets.
• Experience managing upscale restaurants or hotel resort operations.
• Good reading/writing English; basic computer knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, in detail, specific duties to associates under supervision for efficient kitchen operation.
• Selects, trains, and supervises kitchen staff in proper menu item preparation.
• Schedules culinary staff to maintain coverage while controlling payroll costs.
• Ensures proper ordering, receiving, storage and rotation of food to comply with Health Department regulations.
• Adheres to cost and quality control procedures.
• Supervises daily safety and sanitation practices.
• Maintains vacation staffing schedules.
• Assists engineering with equipment maintenance.
• Performs duties related to development and execution of special events and VIP staff events.
• Prepares all food items according to recipe specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
