Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or education/substitution for entry at GL-5.
• Specialized experience may apply for higher grades (GL-7/GL-9/GS-11).
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Patrol borders and waterways using various government assets.
