Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the federal agency protecting the United States at the border. CBP is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) at full-time, entry and mid-level grades with base pay and federal benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or a bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course leading to a bachelor's degree.
• Combination of experience and education credits may apply.
• Eligibility to qualify at GL-5/GL-7/GL-9/GS-11 based on experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Detect immigration and customs violations and inspect documents and possessions.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpreting tracks, marks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using varied assets.
