Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is urgently hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) at full-time, entry and mid-level grade levels. Duties include questioning and inspecting individuals, patrolling borders, and enforcing immigration and customs laws.

Selected candidates receive competitive base pay, federal benefits, generous leave, and a Thrift Savings Plan. Incentives may total up to $50,000 over three years depending on location and offer details.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree in any field qualifies for entry level.
• Combination of experience and education also qualifies.
• Knowledge of regulations and procedures required for border enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violations of immigration or customs laws.
• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Patrol borders and enforce laws using various government assets.
• Perform checks at farms, buildings, traffic, and transportation points.
• Interpret physical evidence and track illegal entries to support enforcement.
