Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or education that shows ability to learn regulations and procedures.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leads to qualification.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify as well.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpreting tracks, marks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using varied government assets.
