Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join a large, federal law enforcement workforce.

The BPA role offers competitive base pay, robust benefits, and strong job stability, with incentives up to $20,000 for academy completion or prioritised locations and potential for additional retention incentives. Selections will be made at GL-5, GL-7, GL-9 or GS-11 levels with career advancement to GS-12.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, decision making and composure under stress.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify you for higher grades.

Responsibilities

• Detect immigration and customs violations and inspect documents to verify citizenship/violation status.
• Patrol borders and use surveillance assets to deter illegal entry and smuggling.
• Apply enforcement procedures, make arrests, and participate in investigations as assigned.
