Job summary

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Utility Operator to help run and inspect boiler systems and related equipment. The role reports to the Shift Supervisor and Control Room Operator, handling operation, data interpretation, and routine maintenance tasks.

The position requires basic mechanical experience and the ability to work overtime and rotating shifts. You will engage with plant processes, safety protocols, and coordination with teams to maintain efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Three or more months related experience and/or training.
• Mechanical skills sufficient to perform tasks such as replacement of shear pins, valve repacking, and equipment inspections.
• Knowledge to operate power plant auxiliary equipment, such as air compressors, dryers and pumps.
• Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operations of assigned equipment in accordance with plant procedures.
• Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, and electrical devices.
• Read and interpret data from meters and gauges to report malfunctions or abnormal conditions.
• Perform sampling and water treatment as assigned.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Operate mobile equipment such as Bobcat, steer loader, and forklift.
• Assist with refuse crane operations and manage refuse-fuel and fire watch as needed.
• Work overtime during planned or unplanned maintenance.
• Maintain positive work relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates.
