Job summary

West Marine is seeking a Sales Associate in Los Angeles to provide exceptional customer service, understand customer needs, and recommend products for boating experiences. You will manage transactions, assist with purchases, and help maintain a clean, organized store environment.

The role requires strong communication, familiarity with merchandise, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Prior boating/retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Retail or sales experience preferred.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to learn product details and upsell.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers to understand their needs.
• Provide product knowledge and suggestive selling.
• Assist customers in selecting products and direct them to aisles.
• Handle cash, credit, and returns accurately at the register.
• Maintain pricing, signage, and inventory on the floor.
• Support BOPIS and ship-from-store processes as needed.
• Keep the sales floor clean and organized.
• Complete required training and SOPs.
