Job summary

West Marine is hiring a Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service in a busy store environment. You will help customers find the best boating products, answer questions, and process transactions with accuracy and a friendly attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous boating or retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and sales abilities.
• Ability to operate POS and handle transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers as they enter the store.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs with active listening.
• Provide product knowledge and suggestive selling to enhance boating experience.
• Assist customers in selecting products and direct to the right aisle.
• Inform customers about services and assist with special orders.
• Handle cash, credit, returns, and manage the register accurately.
• Maintain pricing and signage for accurate displays.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and replenishment.
• Keep sales floor neat, clean, and hazard free.
• Support BOPIS and ship-from-store processes when needed.
• Participate in required training and SOPs; flexible schedule including nights/weekends/holidays.
