Job summary

Blue Water Thinking, LLC is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to ensure the safety, reliability, and proper functioning of medical equipment at the VA in Des Moines, IA. The role includes preventive/corrective maintenance, inspections, equipment installation, cybersecurity coordination, and Cerner integration, working with clinical and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in applied science or equivalent military training.
• Minimum of five years hospital or healthcare experience with medical equipment maintenance.
• Understanding regulatory requirements and ISO standards in healthcare.
• Ability to read and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on medical equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions following manufacturer guidelines.
• Install, calibrate, and configure equipment per instructions and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity for medical device security and data protection.
• Maintain CMMS records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Provide technical support and training to staff on equipment operation.
