Job summary

Blue Water Thinking is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain the reliability, functionality, and safety of medical equipment at the Hot Springs VA Medical Center. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, security coordination, and Cerner integration work to support patient care.

The role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and experience with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science.
• Demonstrated competency to perform maintenance and repair on various medical equipment.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on medical equipment to ensure reliability.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions following manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct incoming inspections of new equipment for safety and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to maintain device security and patient data protection.
• Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities using CMMS.
• Provide training to medical staff on equipment operation and safety.
