Job summary

Blue Water Thinking, LLC is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to join the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center team. You will maintain and secure networked medical devices, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and support Cerner integrations.

The role requires strong technical skills, problem solving, and a commitment to patient care. Experience with TCP/IP, HL7, DICOM, and network security is preferred; willingness to obtain necessary clearances is required.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Minimum of three years hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance, with at least one year in medical information systems and networking.
• Knowledge of computer virus protection software, patches, upgrades, information security tools, electronics, computers and networking theory.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure functionality and longevity.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in medical devices per manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out incoming inspections of new medical equipment for safety, functionality, and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement medical device security protocols and protect patient data.
