Blue Water Thinking, LLC is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join the team at Kansas City VA Medical Center. You will maintain a wide range of medical equipment, ensure device safety, and integrate with Cerner EHR systems to support patient care.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, installations, and software updates. Strong problem-solving and collaboration with IT and clinical staff are essential for reliable, safe operations.

Qualifications

Formal education or training in biomedical equipment management.
Experience with hospital biomedical engineering operations.
Understanding of regulatory requirements and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on medical equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
Diagnose, repair, and document corrective maintenance per manufacturer specs.
Conduct incoming inspections for new equipment and verify safety and accuracy.
Collaborate with IT/cybersecurity for device security and data protection.
Install, calibrate, configure medical devices following manuals.
Perform electrical safety inspections and manage hazard recalls.
Update software on medical devices and ensure compatibility with systems.
Maintain CMMS records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Provide training to medical staff on equipment operation and safety.
