Job summary

Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) is seeking a BIM VDC Coordinator to bridge BIM detailers and leads, ensuring coordinated, high-quality models and project standards across electrical construction projects.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams, mentor junior BIM VDC staff, and support training in workflows and software, with occasional travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, CAD or related field, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale projects preferred.
• Electrical construction experience preferred.
• Certifications in BIM VDC-related technologies are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing BIM VDC processes on assigned projects.
• Support development and maintenance of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Ensure adherence to company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
• Manage coordination models using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM tools.
• Perform clash detection and track resolution of coordination issues across trades.
• Produce 2D drawings, shop drawings, and model-based documentation.
• Provide model extracts and coordination reports to project teams.
• Serve as a liaison between Detailer I/II roles and the BIM VDC Lead.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams to ensure accurate system integration.
• Participate in and occasionally lead coordination meetings.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, foremen, and field crews to ensure constructability and timely issue resolution.
• Mentor and guide BIM VDC Detailer I and II team members.
• Assist with onboarding and training in BIM VDC workflows and software.
• Stay informed on BIM VDC advancements and recommend process improvements.
