Job summary

Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) is seeking a BIM VDC Coordinator to bridge BIM detailers and leads, ensuring coordinated, high-quality models and consistent project standards.

You will facilitate communication across teams and support model management and clash detection on electrical construction projects. You will mentor Detailer I/II, assist with onboarding in BIM VDC workflows, and stay current on BIM VDC advancements to suggest process improvements.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or comparable BIM VDC software.
• Understanding of construction processes and project life cycles.
• Strong communication and collaboration capabilities across diverse project teams.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Experience with cloud-based collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing BIM VDC processes on assigned projects.
• Support development and maintenance of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Ensure adherence to company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
• Manage coordination models using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM tools.
• Perform clash detection and track resolution of coordination issues across trades.
• Produce 2D drawings, shop drawings, and model-based documentation.
• Provide model extracts and coordination reports to project teams.
• Serve as a liaison between Detailer I/II roles and the BIM VDC Lead.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams to ensure accurate system integration.
• Participate in and occasionally lead coordination meetings.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, foremen, and field crews to ensure constructability and timely issue resolution.
• Mentor and guide BIM VDC Detailer I and II team members.
• Assist with onboarding and training in BIM VDC workflows and software.
• Stay informed on BIM VDC advancements and recommend process improvements.
