Our client is seeking a Billing Specialist to join their team in a hybrid capacity. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of customer billing records, researching billing exceptions, resolving account discrepancies, and processing billing adjustments. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in a billing, financial, or customer account environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, analyze, and correct customer account and billing discrepancies within the customer care system (CCS).
• Maintain accurate and auditable customer billing records.
• Review billing exceptions and process billing corrections, adjustments, and rebills as needed.
• Analyze customer account information to ensure accurate billing and usage calculations.
• Coordinate service order completion, including meter changes, installations, removals, account updates, and service turn-ons/turn-offs.
• Research customer billing inquiries and provide detailed account explanations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal departments to investigate and resolve billing issues.
• Prepare and maintain monthly reports and process daily operational reports.
• Gather documentation and research information required for regulatory or customer complaint responses.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of utility rates, tariffs, rules, and regulations affecting customer billing.
• Take ownership of customer account issues and drive timely resolution.
• Support departmental goals and perform additional duties as assigned.
