Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Reconciliation Specialist to support our billing services team. You will work with insurance companies to ensure accurate reimbursement for therapy sessions and actively post payments in customer billing systems for accounts receivable monitoring.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in payment posting, ABA experience, and proficiency with insurance portals. This role provides full-time hourly work with options for remote in listed states.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1–2 years payment posting experience.
• ABA experience preferred.
• Experience using insurance company websites/portals.
• Willing to learn with a positive attitude and good challenge mindset.
• Professional phone skills and excellent communication with internal teams and insurers.
• Attention to detail, critical thinking and HIPAA confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure HIPAA-compliant confidentiality for all client data.
• Reconcile payments posted electronically from the clearinghouse.
• Post manual payments in billing platforms (Rethink, Tebra, Azalea).
• Review and interpret EOBs and ERAs.
• Post payments from insurance portals.
• Enroll in ERAs to reduce manual posting and monitor enrollment progress.
• Communicate trends to the Billing Advocate (CBA) and AR team.
• Identify underpayments/overpayments and coordinate resolutions.
• Measure and monitor key performance metrics.
• Review payor contracts when applicable.
• Foster a positive work environment; handle special projects as needed.
