City of Garland is seeking a part-time Customer Care/Finance Specialist. Primary duties include handling customer calls, creating service orders, processing payments, and resolving billing issues in a friendly, professional manner. Starting pay is $18.50/hr with a flexible part-time schedule and availability needs between 8:00 a.m.

and 5:00 p.m. The role supports waste collection billing and related tasks. The ideal candidate balances cash drawers, uses Microsoft Office, and communicates well

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years related experience (or equivalent).
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Admin or related field preferred.
• Cash handling, customer service, or utility billing experience is valued.

Responsabilités

• Investigate missed container reports using Samsara and communicate findings to staff and customers.
• Enter all payments into cash drawer and record transactions.
• Interact with customers to resolve problems related to waste collection payments, fees and scale weights.
• Research and process adjustments for payments, refunds and sales tax exemptions.
• Open and close service orders; manage multiple duties in a supporting role such as Customer Care Rep or Dispatcher.
