Job summary

The City of Garland is seeking a Part-Time Department Representative II to handle customer calls, create service orders, and resolve issues related to sanitation payments and service queries. The role also includes cash handling, billing inquiries and maintaining accurate records.

Starting pay is $18.50 per hour with a flexible part-time schedule between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and some related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Accounting/Business or related area.

Responsibilities

• Investigate missed container reports using Samsara and relay findings to staff and customers.
• Enter all payments into cash drawer and record transactions.
• Interact with customers to resolve problems related to payments, fees and weights.
• Research and process adjustments for payments/refunds and sales tax exemptions.
• Open and close service orders.
• Support roles such as Customer Care Representative, Scale Attendant, Dispatcher.
