Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support instruction for students with disabilities. You will work under a Special Education teacher, providing bilingual assistance, one-on-one tutoring, and daily living skills support.

Responsibilities include assisting with clinical and classroom tasks, lifting and positioning students when needed, and helping maintain behavior records. CPR training is desirable but not required at hire.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid ISBE paraprofessional license or eligible after 60 college credits.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and at least one other language.
• Experience or ability to work with students with various disabilities.
• Good classroom behavior management and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education teachers in reinforcing instruction for students with disabilities.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene support as needed.
• Assist with daily living skills, positioning equipment, and specialized tools.
• Attend field trips, maintain records, and support classroom activities.
