Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Class Size Bilingual Teacher Assistant to support instruction in Priority Schools. Under the supervision of a licensed teacher, you will assist in tutoring, classroom setup, materials preparation, and student supervision throughout the day.

The role requires a high school diploma (or GED) and a valid paraprofessional license or equivalent. Bilingual ability in English and another language is highly valued, with opportunities to work with diverse learners

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or GED) is required.
• Must possess a valid paraprofessional license for CPS/ISBE, or equivalent.
• Ability to work with school-aged children and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes bilingual skills and assists in supervision during lunchroom and playground activities.
• Provides security functions within the school, such as monitoring hallways and ID checks.
• Assist students in understanding and completing classroom assignments.
• Assist teachers in preparing bulletin boards and displaying student work.
• Operates photocopying and duplicating machines to reproduce educational materials.
• Assists in maintaining orderly classrooms and welcoming visitors.
