Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a bilingual paraprofessional to assist in classroom instruction at Walt Disney Magnet School. Under a Special Education teacher, you reinforce learning concepts and support students with various disabilities throughout the school day.

The role includes one-on-one tutoring, basic daily living support, notes, and field trips. CPR training is desirable; required licensing/credits may be completed after hire.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid TASN paraprofessional license from ISBE or be eligible with 60 college hours and completion of paraprofessional exam.
• Good knowledge of disabilities, English grammar and basic math.
• Ability to read, speak and write in English and at least one other language.
• CPR training is highly desirable; training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction for students with disabilities under a teacher's supervision.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and support daily living activities as needed.
• Help with personal hygiene tasks and classroom notes/record-keeping.
• Attend field trips and assist in managing classroom equipment.
