Job summary

Lukos is seeking a Social Worker/Custody and Removal Coordinator in Chesterfield, VA to support ICE detainees and staff. The CRC will assist with needs, requests, and family communications, coordinating disability accommodations, and providing counsel on complex cases.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish capabilities, a social work background, and experience with vulnerable populations. Availability for working at detention facilities and travel as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social work, Psychology, or an equivalent degree.
• Master's degree or an equivalent advanced degree preferred but not required
• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and oral

Responsibilities

• Assist detainees with needs, requests, and complaints using ICE forms.
• Support ERO staff with parent/child communication and child welfare involvement.
• Coordinate disability accommodations with detention facilities upon request by ERO HQ.
• Facilitate discussions on issues like abuse, pregnancy, housing, and release.
• Provide language interpretation for detained noncitizens and staff as needed.
• Refer noncitizens to appropriate staff for care and follow-up (medical, mental health, chaplain, etc.).
• Conduct wellness checks and follow-ups for vulnerable individuals as requested.
• Meet newly detained noncitizens during intake to orient them to CRC services.
• Support specialized housing units and programs for vulnerable populations (transgender housing, behavioral/mental health units, etc.).
• Assist with removal planning by researching referrals and resources in the home country and U.S.

Skills
