Houston Area Women's Center is seeking a Residential Mentor to support women and children in a domestic violence shelter. You will provide mentoring, crisis intervention, safety planning, and supportive services to residents in a communal living setting.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, attention to detail, and the ability to follow policies while maintaining confidential information. This on-site, full-time position includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifikationen

• Associates Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, or Criminal Justice and 3 years of experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or Criminal Justice and 1 year of experience.
• Experience within social services, case management, or similar field (1-3 years depending on education level).
• Ability to read, speak and write both English and Spanish fluently.
• Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
• Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.

Aufgaben

• Provide mentoring, crisis intervention, safety planning, and supportive services to residents.
• Model and teach non-violent conflict resolution skills.
• Assign and monitor residents’ personal responsibilities in the communal living environment.
• Conduct orientations, intakes, group meetings, and exit processes.
• Enforce policies and complete paperwork with HMIS software.
