Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a remote, full-time Patient Support Specialist to manage the care process from benefit verification to medication delivery. The role requires fluent Spanish and English and familiarity with payer policies.

You will coordinate with physicians, specialty pharmacies, and insurers, assist with prior authorizations, and help patients understand coverage and costs. A High School diploma is preferred, with 2–4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of industry experience with patient-facing or high touch customer interaction experience preferred
• Fluent in both Spanish and English required
• Previous Hub or Patient Support Service experience preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid & Commercial payer policies (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire care process from benefit investigation/verification to medication delivery
• Conduct benefit verifications and coordinate with physicians, specialty pharmacies, and insurance companies
• Assist in obtaining insurance, prior authorization, and appeal requirements/outcomes
• Explain insurance plan coverage and out-of-pocket costs to patients
• Resolve patient questions and concerns regarding status of assistance requests
• Demonstrate knowledge of payer landscapes and reimbursement environment
• Process enrollments via fax, phone, and electronic methods
• Review forms and documentation for completeness
• Handle inbound calls from patients, providers, SPs, and customers with a focus on one-call resolution
