Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a remote, full-time Patient Support Specialist to manage the care process from benefit verification to medication delivery. You will coordinate with physicians, SPs and insurers to ensure timely access and assist with prior authorizations and appeals.

The role requires fluency in Spanish and English, 2–4 years of patient-facing experience, and knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payer policies.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of industry experience with patient-facing or high touch customer interaction experience preferred.
• Fluent in both Spanish and English.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid & Commercial payer policies and guidelines for coverage preferred.
• Strong people skills including empathy, adaptability and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire care process from benefit investigation to medication delivery with urgency and a strong patient focus.
• Conduct benefit verifications and coordinate with physicians, SPs and insurers for timely access.
• Assist with insurance, prior authorizations and appeals requirements and outcomes.
• Explain insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs to patients and guide through appeals if needed.
• Resolve patient questions and act as a liaison for patient concerns.
• Remain knowledgeable about Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and Commercial plans and reimbursement changes.
• Process enrollments via fax, phone, and electronic methods.
• Review forms and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Handle inbound calls from patients and providers, aiming for one-call resolution.
