Job summary

The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc. is seeking a Bilingual Resident Advocate to provide direct services in a 100-bed emergency shelter for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and homelessness.

The role includes intake, orientation, room assignments, safety oversight and daily census updates. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, hotline support, meal supervision, volunteer orientation, and ensuring program compliance with grants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree is highly desired.
• Two years' experience providing direct care in social services or residential setting with at-risk clientele.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct intake and orientation for shelter residents.
• Maintain shelter guidelines, safety, and daily census updates.
• Answer 24-hour hotline, provide crisis intervention and referrals.
• Assist with meal counts and supervision during meals.
• Oversee volunteers and new staff as designated.
• Document services and maintain records per grants.
