Job summary

Cherry Health in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to deliver excellent customer service across multiple channels. You will manage call handling, patient intake, scheduling, and insurance verification in the NextGen EHR, while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires detail orientation and teamwork, with hours including nights or weekends as needed. Onsite at our downtown Grand Rapids location, you will support clinical staff and promote access to care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical office, call center, or customer service.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Open and greet patients, collect and input accurate data into the patient record.
• Schedule appointments and create patient charts in the EMR following scheduling guidelines.
• Input data into the EHR (NextGen) and ensure accuracy of financial and demographic information.
• Coordinate translation services when required and communicate clearly with physicians and staff.
• Audit appointments and charts for completeness; maintain confidentiality of patient data.
• Represent Cherry Health at community events and support patient access to services.
