Job summary

Community Health Center, Inc. seeks a Patient Service Associate to be the first contact for patients and visitors. You will greet, schedule, collect demographics, verify insurance, and manage a busy front desk while maintaining confidentiality and excellent service.

The role requires bilingual Spanish, strong ccommunication skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment. On-site hours and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree, medical office or medical assistant degree required.
• Bilingual Spanish language skills required.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational skills relevant to medical office work.
• Healthcare experience in medical, dental, or behavioral health preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and callers.
• Oversee reception area to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming atmosphere.
• Greet patients and visitors and assist as appropriate.
• Review daily schedules for accuracy and fill appointment opportunities.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments per guidelines.
• Collect, verify, and update patient demographics and insurance information.
• Reconcile patient visits and maintain accuracy in records.
• Verify active insurance coverage and collect payments and copays.
• Assist with payment plans and sliding fee applications.
• Complete end-of-day reporting and balance records.
• Answer and direct incoming calls and document in the EHR system.
• Assist patients with forms and scan into EHR per indexing protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
