Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish – REQUIRED
• 1 year of front desk experience
• Experience verifying patient insurance information
• High school diploma or GED
• Customer service, client relations, or marketing experience preferred
• Healthcare setting experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing/registration software
• Strong typing and data-entry skills
• Knowledge of health insurance types
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Professional, outgoing and comfortable interacting with patients, clients, and community partners
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• CPR certification provided by the facility

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
• Enter patient demographics, insurance and financial information into registration software
• Verify insurance information and collect copayments or payments
• Answer incoming calls and route appropriately
• Maintain cash till, financial records and daily logs
• Assist with medical records, filing, mail, faxing, copying and scanning
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
• Provide professional service to patients, visitors, and staff
• Support marketing outreach and client relations activities
• Visit referral sources and host lunches/events
• Represent Ascent EMC at events and marketing activities
• Maintain flexibility for occasional evening events
