Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Patient Service Representative for a full-time role based at the Lake Forest Hospital campus, with potential travel to the Grayslake clinic. Shifts are 7:00am-3:30pm or 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include checking patients in/out, updating demographics/insurance, processing payments, and coordinating appointments with a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0 to 2 years' experience in a customer service position.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual capability.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and guests, confirms identity and provides visit information.
• Completes check-in/check-out functions as directed.
• Updates patient demographics and insurance information.
• Obtains patient consents/authorizations as needed.
• Records payments and processes billing information.
• Schedules appointments and maintains waiting area.
