Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking a Patient Service Representative to check patients in and out, manage registrations and payments, and provide exemplary customer service in a fast‑paced clinic environment. The role supports scheduling and patient flow while maintaining accurate demographic and insurance information.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with 0–2 years in customer service; healthcare experience and bilingual abilities are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience in a customer service position.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
• Working knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
• Bilingual (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and guests, confirms identity, and provides necessary information about the visit.
• Completes check‑in/out functions as directed.
• Confirms and updates patient demographic/insurance information.
• Registers patients as needed and obtains consents/authorizations.
• Collects co-payments and balances; processes payments.
• Posts payments and closes the end of day cash drawer.
• Keeps waiting areas clean and comfortable.
• Notifies patients of delays or changes in appointment status.
• Schedules appointments as necessary.
• May float to other ICCs/departments as needed.
