Job summary

Urban Health Plan is hiring a bilingual Patient Service Representative (Spanish/English) for the St. Lawrence Community Health Care facility in the Bronx.

The role greets and registers patients, verifies information, schedules appointments, and provides compassionate support to patients and families in a fast-paced setting. This full-time, onsite position requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1–2 years of clerical experience in health care.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• Experience in clerical/administrative functions in a health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and identifies their needs.
• Verifies insurance information through managed care website.
• Answers incoming calls and takes messages for providers.
• Registers patients, assigns PCP (when applicable), and updates demographic information.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments.
• Maintains charts and provides administrative support to the department.
