Job summary

San Ysidro Health seeks a Patient Services Representative to greet visitors, answer phones, register new patients, and assist with funding eligibility and scheduling. You will enter demographics in Epic, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and guide patients through access processes with a focus on service excellence.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of customer service, are bilingual (Vietnamese-English), and can work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of customer service experience.
• Preferred front desk/reception in a medical setting.
• Bilingual Vietnamese-English required.

Responsibilities

• Assembles data for complete patient registration including insurance verifications.
• Enter current patient demographic information into Epic system.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.
• Assess patient financial responsibility and collect co-pays and deductibles at check-in.
• Obtain funding information from patients and provide information on funding resources.
• Explore eligibility using payer resources and initiate referrals for Medi-Cal, Medicare, Manage Care, Commercial, etc.
• Collaborate with departments to identify and resolve patient inquiries and barriers.
• Enter fiscally related information into databases and maintain records.
• Respond to information requests related to patient access processes and policies.
• Recognize need for immediate and urgent services.
• Provide assistance and direction to visitors and patients.
• Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
