Job summary

Variety Care is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to greet patients, schedule visits, and coordinate entry of accurate information. Under the supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, you will handle calls, verify insurance, assist with telehealth, and connect patients to the right care teams while upholding privacy and service standards.

Proficiency with EPIC scheduling, strong communication, a bilingual Spanish/English ability, and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) abilities preferred.
• Must have computer experience and data-entry skills.
• Direct experience in public/customer service settings.
• Strong communication, listening, and empathetic service.
• Excellent organizational skills in a busy environment.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and telephone etiquette while scheduling patient visits.
• Act as first point of contact for the VC health center with professional demeanor.
• Meet or exceed individual Patient Access performance measures.
• Document accurately in the EMR (EPIC) and communicate with care teams.
• Verify information, assist with telehealth, and refer to appropriate resources.
• Attend staff trainings and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy.
• Support accreditation efforts and patient-centered care initiatives.
