Job summary

Primary Health Care, Inc (PHC) in Des Moines seeks a Patient Access Representative I to greet patients, register visits, verify insurance, schedule appointments and support revenue cycle processes. The role is based at University Medical Clinic in Des Moines, with a standard 40-hour week, Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM, and occasional shift changes.

Requires bilingual Spanish/English communication, 1 year in healthcare or 2 years in customer service, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills, written and verbal.
• A minimum of 1 year in a healthcare or 2 years in a customer service role.
• Excellent customer service and effective communication.
• Basic math skills and ability to make change.
• Experience with patient registration systems and EHRs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, provide prompt, friendly service at the front desk.
• Register patients, verify insurance and load information into the system.
• Schedule appointments and manage recalls and reminders.
• Collect payments and manage cash with accuracy.
• Maintain clean reception and monitor visitor logs and badges.
• Collaborate with care team to improve patient experience and workflows.
