Job summary

Primary-Health-Care, Inc. seeks a Patient Access Representative I to greet patients at the front desk, register, verify insurance, and schedule medical or dental appointments.

You will support revenue cycle processes and collaborate with the care team to improve clinic workflow and patient satisfaction. Based at West Side Clinic, Des Moines, IA, the role is 40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM, with potential shift changes and occasional float to other PHC clinics.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills, written and verbal.
• 1 year in a healthcare/human services or 2 years in a customer service role.
• Excellent customer service skills and commitment to service excellence.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills with ability to apply critical thinking.
• Takes initiative and demonstrates dependability.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and manage the reception area for a positive experience.
• Accurately document messages and communicate to the appropriate person.
• Schedule patient appointments and ensure accurate registrations.
• Load insurance information and verify eligibility using Real Time Eligibility.
• Assist patients with the sliding fee program and referrals to Medicaid/Marketplace.
