Job summary

ACCESS Community Health Network (ACCESS) is seeking a friendly and professional receptionist to support patient intake and scheduling. You will pre-register patients in Epic, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and respond to inquiries with HIPAA compliance.

Flexible hours and potential remote work after training are offered. The role requires 2 years of healthcare customer service experience, basic computer skills, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency to assist a diverse patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years’ relevant experience in customer service (health care preferred).
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Answer calls in a courteous, professional, efficient, and prompt manner.
• Pre-registering new patients into the Epic EMR system.
• Schedule patient appointments using the Epic EMR system.
• Verify patient insurance/benefits, as appropriate.
• Respond to patient inquiries and complaints.
• Direct patient phone calls to the appropriate destination when beyond scope.
• Complete outbound calls to patients to schedule future appointments.
• Return patient calls/messages and provide additional information as necessary.
• Adhere to HIPAA and ACCESS policies regarding patient privacy.
• Other duties as assigned.
