11th Avenue Family Medicine Clinic in Yakima, WA seeks a Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming first contact, handling data entry, scheduling, and patient support. You will assist with insurance questions, translate as needed, and help maintain accurate patient records in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year's experience as a Receptionist in a clinic preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking skills required at level 9.
• Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
• Interact with patients, Providers and staff in a professional manner.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of healthcare billing insurance.
• Basic proficiency with Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Answer the phone, transfer calls, and take messages as needed for the clinic.
• Greet patients and maintain patient and visitor logs; notify arrival; provide translation as needed.
• Ensure accurate data collection and forms; create/maintain patient charts; register new patients.
• Schedule patient appointments; notify providers of no-shows and cancellations; manage schedule updates.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and file documentation; assist with questions.
• Respond to patient questions in person, by phone, and via patient portal systems.
• May perform routine billing functions such as posting patient encounters, collecting payments, and end-of-day reports.
• Review cash box receipts and reconcile daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
