Job summary

Catholic Charities Community Services, within the Immigrant & Refugee Services Division, seeks a Hotline Counselor – SPANISH to support the MOIA Immigration Legal Support Hotline. This full-time, non-exempt role involves handling urgent immigration-related calls, providing information, referrals, and time-sensitive support to New Yorkers.

Under supervision, you will assist with rapid response cases, coordinate with internal resources, and ensure timely data entry to track trends and improve

Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish as required by Local Law 30.
• Experience handling immigration hotline calls preferred.
• Experience as an immigration counselor or paralegal is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls on the Immigration Legal Support Hotline and provide general information about immigration procedures.
• Respond to rapid response calls and coordinate referrals or follow-ups.
• Schedule appointments and provide referrals and information to callers.
• Share Know Your Rights resources and guidance on immigration court procedures.
• Participate in ongoing training on immigration laws and policy developments.
• Assist victims of immigration consultant fraud in filing complaints.
• Capture service data and document interactions for trend analysis.
